Write one to your soon-to-be or consider giving these as unique wedding invitations, favors or thank you cards to guests!  I mean really, who wouldn’t love to receive one of these darling treasures?

Here’s how it works:  You write a letter and it is transcribed onto tiny stationary with a magical transcription device.  The letter then goes into a see-through folded coin case and is packaged up with a magnifying glass in a larger glassine envelope, finished off with a wax seal.  It is put in a sturdy mailer for shipping.”Leafcutter Designs

…Get Fit With The Shoes!

You know I’m all about high heels and pretty little shoes.  However, if you’re looking to show off those legs of yours with a fabulous pair of heels on your wedding day (or any day!), consider getting these shoes which I guest blogged about this week on the Wishpot.com Wedding Blog

The Fit Flop from Victoria’s Secret:

Get a workout while you walk around. Engineered to engage muscles, lessen joint impact and absorb shock, these flip-flops burn calories and tone legs with every step.” – V.S.

Reebok Easy Tone Shoes:

With built in balance pods, the Reebok EasyTone will help you firm and sculpt your legs and rear while you go about your busy day.  These balance pods create a naturally unstable platform as you walk, causing your muscles to activate and adapt.” – Reebok

With all of the running around and shopping brides do with wedding planning, shoes like these are the perfect way to get fit in time for your wedding day, even if you feel you don’t have the time to excersize.  Hot legs, nice butt?  These are great for any fabulous multi-tasking woman!

Before the wedding, get your pictures taken with a vibrant and colorful sunset as your backdrop.  Walk down the aisle with candles flickering, into your ceremony under the moon.  Party the night away with not only your ring twinkling, but the stars too!

Night weddings can definitely set the mood for love!

A Retro Bridal Shower…

with 6 comments

…So Fitting For The Soon-To-Be Wife!

Sure, times have changed.  Much of what used to be tradition had gone out the window.  Poof, gone!  Just like that.  However, nothing says we can’t bring a little bit of it back, right?  I mean, they do it all the time when it comes to fashion, so why not bring it home too?

This week over at the OneWed Savvy Scoop Blog, I guest blogged about a theme to bring out the pinup housewife in all of you…so of course I had to share!  If you’re planning a bridal shower, get ready to get girly…

Consider serving cherry pie instead of cake and grab some Coca Cola inspiration from my friend Kim over at Head Of The Table.  Or, customize your own bottles with Jones Soda!  To personalize, use similar sayings like shown on the gift bags above or even upload vintage themed photos to your bottle labels.

Thank your guests or pamper the bride with pretty little pinup style bath products from one of my favorite stores, Margarita Bloom!

When it comes time to decorate your shower space, mix your retro theme up with this unique turquoise and red Modern Kitchen Theme by Hostess With The Mostess!

I especially adore how serving utensils were used for the centerpieces – what a great idea!  After the shower, let the bride take them home so she can work on becoming her own domestic diva self.  Don’t forget the apron!

Add A Little Bow Wow To Your Big Day…

…By Including Your Dog, In Style!

Dress your four-legged pet up in style for your walk down the aisle!  Or, simply include them in pre-wedding picture fun like we did, for our wedding…

Above is a photo of my mom’s chihuahua Minnie, dressed to the nines, just like my bridesmaids!  Hey, she was one of the girls too!  My, did she prove it – can you believe she got right in there with all of us girls and posed for every photo with a smile?  It was the sweetest thing.

Lassie never looked so good!  Consider dressing up your dog’s leash for your big day!  A simple and easy DIY idea, all you’ll need is some ribbon.  Cut the ribbon and tie little bows all the way up the leash.  After your vows are said and your big day is over, you can show of your stylish doggie dog around town.  Bow-wow-wow, yippee-yo-yippee-yay!

Welcome To Wedding Registry Heaven…

…Details From The “Here Comes The Blog” Event!

Last week, I was thrilled to join Editor-In-Chief of Brides.com, Michelle Preli along with Ami of Elizabeth Anne Designs for the Here Comes The Blog registry event at the Chicago Bloomingdale’s Medinah Home Store!

here comes the blog

After having a little fun sharing the new Set Your Table tool with couples, we got a chance to discuss a few of our favorite registry trends and also shared some helpful tips and advice together!

Once we finished chit chatting, everyone headed up to the registry floor to browse around, register and enjoy delicious cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Catered By Design.  Check out their awesome cocktail tree on display…imagine having one of those at your wedding!

(Photos thanks to Denise of Bellis Studios who also attended the event with me!)

It was such a pleasure to meet and talk with the happy couples, vendors and the amazing staff at Bloomies.  Seriously, I never realized how unique the Bloomingdale’s registry is.  If you haven’t registered there yet, you’re in for a special treat!  It’s not just a registry, my dears…it’s an experience.  My goodness, it made me want to get married to my husband all over again –  just so we could register once more!

I promise to share more details and pictures with you soon!  From creative tablescape and centerpiece ideas to gorgeous product lines, the event was truly inspiring.  We learned so much while there…so stay tuned for more exciting registry posts to come!  It will be like our own little event, extended over a couple of weeks – sound good?

Until then, be sure to head over to Bloomingdale’s to build your dream registry and enjoy the new Brides.com Set Your Table tool.  Cheers!

A New DIY Idea Unveiled…

with 7 comments

…The Stylish Unveil!

For me, wearing a veil on my wedding day completed the look I used to dream of as a little girl.  However, veils aren’t for everyone!  So if you’re not the veil-wearing type of bride, consider this stylish look instead…

…With a little DIY inspired creativity, all you would need to achieve this stylish couture look is a piece of tulle to tie around your neck and a lovely brooch to add that little bit of sparkle.  Can it get any easier or any more affordable than this?  I love it!

He may be a well known planner to celebs, but now Colin Cowie has teamed up with Brides.com to share his secrets with all of us!

Colin Cowie now on Bridesdotcom

There’s tons of great inspiration to grab from this creative mind, but I absolutely love his ideas on how to personalize your day.  One of them suggests, “offering a series of signature cocktails named after each of the bridesmaids and groomsmen”…

Set Your Table: Black & White Bliss…

with 2 comments

…Adds Sophisticated Edge!

Before modern brides took over, the color black was left for funerals.  Today, however, brides are incorporating black into their beautiful white weddings and it’s hotter than ever!  Black and white weddings are not only classy, but sophisticated, sexy and even a little edgy too…

(Photo credits: frame, setting from Bloomingdale’s, setting created using the Set Your Table tool from Brides.com)

If you consider yourself a modern bride, consider bringing this stylish look home to your table as well.  The pairing of these colors allow you to transform your table from casual to dressy, just like white dishes do…only with a little sass

Spice it up a little with punches of color for any season or occasion, using flowerslinens or whatever else comes to mind.  Oh yes, black and white is here to stay, wouldn’t you say?  Now, how will you Set Your Table?
